Lehigh University's College of Business and Economics has announced that it will launch a new Master of Science in Management, beginning in 2015.
The program is designed for recent graduates who did not study business. Specifically, the program is aimed at those with liberal arts or scientific backgrounds, according to a statement from the school.
"This program will give non-business students an expanded ‘tool kit’ that leverages knowledge gained from their undergraduate degree that smooths and enhances the path from college to career," says Georgette Chapman Phillips, the dean of the business school.
"In addition it will allow students to fulfill a passion for liberal arts during their undergraduate years and still be competitive candidates in an ever-changing global employment market."
The program's core curriculum focuses on a range of standard business topics, with courses like "Statistical Analysis for Management," "Marketing Foundations," and "Supply Chain Operations Management." Additionally, the program will also include some content which will help students develop their professional skills, such as leadership workshops, interview preparation material, and communication workshops.
The new Master of Science in Management will also give students the opportunity to get hands-on skills, through optional internships, consulting projects, and an international immersion experience.
Lehigh University is located in Pennsylvania and is accredited by AACSB.
The new Master of Science in Management is set to launch in August 2015. To apply, interested candidates should have an undergraduate degree and either a GMAT or GRE score (although the test scores can be waived for those who did their undergraduate degrees at Lehigh.) Additionally, a personal essay, a resume, and two letters of recommendation are also required. International applications will also be required to submit a TOEFL score.
The first application deadline is April 15, and the final application deadline is June 15.
