INSEAD has announced plans to offer a certificate in "Blue Ocean Strategy" to its MBA participants.
The certificate can be obtained by taking three specialized courses, which were developed around the business strategy book titled The Blue Ocean, that was co-authored by INSEAD professors W. Chan Kim and Renee Mauborgne.
The Blue Ocean, both the book and the certificate, promotes creating new market space or "Blue Ocean" rather than competing in an existing industry.
The book was published in 2005, and has since sold more than 2 million copies.
