Hii everyone,
I have got final admission call for Full time MBA- 2022 batch from following colleges:
MSU- Broad- 90% Scholarship,
Olin- WashU - 50% Scholarship
TAMU- Mays- 70 % Scholarship,
Purdue-Krannert - Scholarship $ 10K + GA
UT Dallas- Naveen Jindal - 90% scholarship
Rutgers- $ 12K
Now, I am confused between which one to chose. What are the pros and cons of one over the other. Kindly help me to decide.
I have 9 years of work Ex of project mgmt in a manufacturing and engineering organization- BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals ltd).
I wish to do my MBA in SCM.. and after my MBA i am inclined towards doing a job in a SCM or operations consulting role...
However, I am bit flexible as far as future JOB opportunities and areas of work or Industries are concerned. And I would be fine with project mgmnt role or supply chain specialist as secondary choice.
Small difference in the fee or the scholarship doesn't matter to me.. If the college and future opportunities are better at some place, I would be happy to spend few more pennies..
I am an international Student (From India) and I have no reservations for the location of the colleges.. Though, it would be helpful if you could suggest any location to have particular advantages over other (among the above list of colleges)..
Please Help me decide..

Why not use this approach with the ranking data?

Yes, I would ignore scholarship / cost altogether, and try to narrow in on the best school for your career goals. Broad is great for Supply Chain, as is Krannert. Rutgers places more broadly.
Location might play strongly into your choice if you are looking at trying to land a job in the US. I suggest doing a bit of searching on LinkedIn to see which school(s) best reflect the kinds of companies where you want to work. With Rutgers you'd be right next to one of the biggest cities in the world but with the midwestern schools you might have better access to firms in manufacturing / retail and the Texas schools would get you nearer to energy companies.

I know that these two colleges have a good reputation and are difficult to enter. You can choose what you like best. I recently applied to one of these colleges. I want to do it despite a 7 year break in education, so I needed to be well prepared for this. I wrote a good statement of purpus and letters of recommendation.

FYI for anybody visiting this thread today, Krannert is fazing out their in-class MBA.

That makes three or four well known US programmes to stop their campus MBAs recently? Can only see this trend accelerating for those lower middling ranked schools.

Yeah, the issue is is that they don't really make the schools any money. This level of school needs to discount the cost through scholarships in order to attract better candidates that will help with the school's ranking. It's a bad cycle that will most likely end with more of these kinds of closures. They'll open more specialized master's degree programs and maybe move their MBAs online.

They never made money... I think it's about schools focussing more on their distinctive contributions... And the need to give top faculty more time to research.
