MBA options for software engineer with 14 years work experience

vm_pm

Hello,

I'm very interested in getting into software product management and I'm looking at the MBA as one of my paths to land myself a start in PM (product management). I'd appreciate if anyone could share their insight into which schools would be a good choice for me and would be willing to give me an admit. My profile in a few words is as follows:

1. 12 years of experience as a software engineer at a mid size US software product company.
2. Joined as a SE II and gradually got promoted to Principal Software Engineer (my last role)
3. GMAT score 650
4. US permanent resident (no visa issues)

I've found some schools offer executive MBA programs. GaTech looks very interesting to me. But not sure if there are other B schools in the US that offer similar full time programs. Please share your thoughts. Appreciate it!

I'm not sure that an EMBA program would be the best route into product management. A full-time MBA or online MBA would most likely be a better option (a full-time MBA especially if you need career support.)

Have you just tried applying for project manager jobs? 12+ years of experience in the field should give you a good foundation for a PM position.
