Hi to everyone,
I wish to ask you about low cost MBA programs in UK Universities which are accredited. Can I choose unranked universities like Salford or Buckingham? I can afford only 16,000 GBP fees for 1 year MBA Full time course and willing to intake in September 2013. I have done my 2 years graduation from University of Karachi, Pakistan. Please help me in choosing the right university.
I also have 4 years of work experience in an audit firm. I will provide further information.
Regards

If you cannot afford a ranked school then at least look for one with an AMBA accredited MBA.

Thanks for your prompt reply.
If I apply in AMBA accredited university then will my degree be counted as a good one or not in job prospects especially in Gulf?

Yes, the AMBA-accredited programmes are the strong ones in Europe, and they are well respected. Of course the AMBA programmes which are also in the rankings are the best.

One of the best options, Aberystwyth, seems to not be recruiting for its MBA at the moment.

Portsmouth is 17.6K GBP
Salford is around 16K
I think Royal Holloway is a bit less as well.
If you can bump your budget, Sheffield or Leeds would be good values at around 22.5k GBP.

Would Bradford be better than those listed above? Its fee is 19.5k, cheaper than Sheffield and Leeds but is the reputation better?

Bradford is much better.
I wonder if the B-school in UK now hunger and compete for international students?
I sent my application to Bradford few days ago and I got an offer within two business day. Having said that I also sent my application to some other like Kingston, Hull etc and havent heard from them.
Any alumni of Bradford from South East Asia country? I been reading some opinions about the place Bradford and it doesn't seem like a nice place to live in.

Hi,
This is Tarik from Bangladesh. I am a qualified chartered accountant with an M.Com in Accounting. Currently, I am thinking of doing an MBA from UK. It is worth noting that I have got offer from Hull and Bradford and struggling to select the good one considering my budget which is around GBP 12,000. I have been awarded a scholarship of GBP 8,200 from Hull leaving the net tuition costs of GBP 11,200 and awiting for the 50th Anniversary Scholarship result of Bradford. If I am not awarded any scholarship from Bradford is it still good doing MBA from Hull? Please advise.
JK Duncan: Could you please give some valuable input? Responses from others will highly be appreciated.

This really depends on your career goals. If Hull if your only choice then you don't have enough choices and your criteria are too narrow.

Thanks Duncan.
My long term career goal is to become a partner in one of the Big-4 affiliated firms in Bangladesh. Therefore, I would like to develop some strategic managerial capabilities from a good university in UK. As you know, we the people in Bangladesh doesn't have enough financial capacity in general and therefore, I am looking for doing the MBA with low cost. Low cost doesn't mean that I am going to choose bottom ranked universities rather I am hoping some scholarship as I have got very good grade in my undergrad, post grad and CA exam as well. In such a situation, is it worth doing MBA from Hull? Seeking your cordial response.
Regards
Tarik

Hi Tarik. Hull's a good British university: above average. Its MBA is accredited by the "triple crown" (AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB) so that also puts it well above average. I like the fact that the focus is on core courses rather than electives. Assuming that you want to study in the UK, Hull is probably the best option for you.

Thanks Duncan. Then obviously I am going to join Hull if I am not awarded any scholarship from Bradford.
