What do you think of this university's MBA (Top-Up) program ?
They can accept graduates with experience with a postgrad diploma in management or business administration like the BTEC.
What is BTEC diploma in management, business administration anyway ?

Does this MBA qualifies for HTEC MBA program ?

know about 20 people already at Sunderland doing various masters including MBA.
Advice: all you can earn is a british mba and that is it for a decent money and that is ALL it is.
I dont wanna say too much but the quality is nothing of a MBA and the academic rigour is nothing like a University.
BTEC is like trainning certificate, I earnred one with a month work, because i already have a degree and the company still paid more the BTEC as a training package.
You can go to MBA at Cardiff uni which is think may be cheap. Or go for master at a higher ranked university. Manchester, Lancaster, Warwick, Glasgow, Durham, Sheffield. Else aim for Newcastle, Northumbria, Durham and London Metropolitant
Sunderland is not a nice place either. it is full of racists, bigots, a depleted industrial area with people living on welfare and council houses.

Wow, that is insightful indeed. I won't be attending on campus. So i won't be worrying too much about living conditions and racism. Anything is better than the gutters from where I am; but to be able to get a MBA degree from a public university and (not a diploma mill) is all I asked for....

what do you mean by not attending the campus?
If you want a cheap degree go for a college, you will get a certificate from a recognized university with less fees.
If you want to be in the UK try this
http://www.lsclondon.co.uk/MBA.htm
else go for a college in singpore, china, malaysia. they do the same thing, a certificate with some teaching and the lifestyle is lively as well.

Really interesting!!
On what admission basis you are enrolled in the top-up MBA? What they are asking for? Maybe another master or?
Thanx!

I started my MBA back in 1995-6. Completed a few units. then recently i completed both a postgraduate diploma in Marketing and a Master in Information technology. The combination =added to my previous experience was adequate to get exempted.

I have now completed all the academic requirements for this MBA degree. the dissertation wasn't easy. I am most satisfied though. Although I am a distance MBA student, I had an opportunity to travel to this campus and visit the faculty.
I am now pretty much an expert in Value Innovation.
Not only am I now MBA graduate, I had received official training in Blue Ocean Strategy when I was recommended by one of the professor to look at my dissertation basing on value innovation.
With some luck, I may even get a distinction grade for my MBA degree.
It'a awesome..

Just want to update some of you. I did receive a distinction for my dissertation and together with my other grades, I will be getting a final classification of Disctinction grade for this MBA.
I have now been enrolled at Lancaster University in a PhD program. The MBA DIssertation mode and some of the research modules were helpful.
Cheers, DC

Hi!
I'v been studying in this university for four years now. I am an MBA student who is trying to write the dissertation. The support I am receiving is amazing, altho is it really hard I'm learning a lot on the topic, and hoping to find a job related to the subject.
This four years has been very hard, but both Sunderland and the university are a quiet and nice place to be living in, both in terms of location and people. Here I have made some verey good friends I hope i will be in touch for a very long time.

Hi, Does anybody knows if Sunderland University's MBA program were Accredited by some other Organisations like MBA's Association? and I have 2 options University of Westminster or Sunderland which is better? Please help me to make a right decision thanks...
Posted Apr 21, 2013 20:30
No, Sunderland doesn't have any of the respected accreditations (http://www.find-mba.com/accreditations). Westminster does, and is much better.
