I am extremely confused. Please help.
I have conditional offers from all the 3 univ. (Conditions are general like IELTS and advance payments)
From what I have understood so far,
Bradford will soon be triple accredited. Nottingham has its world wide reputation. Bradford is high on rankings, Nottingham is not there at all and Sheffield has just entered the rankings on http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/european-business-school-rankings

Please help me.. What should I do ?

You have just made a very important point.

Anyone has any idea about part time jobs in Bradford or Nottingham ? Is it easy to get part time jobs or do we even have enough time to do part time jobs ?

Pl do not think on part time jobs....MBA students cant go for part time jobs becoz of rigorous academic program...You will be crushed with assignments,presentations etc........

Okies, so which univ. is better according to you ? Bradford or Nottingham ?

All are hanging in tail portion of FT rankings and this year Nott and Leeds fell down...I think if Brad dont get AACSB by this year...it may go down further...When we inquire with Brad there is no proper response.....They were telling the same story to last batch....Dont know...whether it is a marketing gimmick...


Nott has a good reputation among companies..........but on over all aspects.....from your pick I would suggest Brad...At least it will manage to occupy in some part of FT rankings...in future...despite lack of improvements..

I got feedback from few alumni that I should go for Nottingham..
This is gonna be tough decision..

Have you finalized on the B-school you wanna join. Even i have received a place in the following-
1. Bradford.
2. Sheffield.
3. Leicester.
I am also expecting a +ve result from Nottingham which i would come to know by a day or two as stated by the interviewer.
Any idea about the Bradford placements?

Congratulations on the offers you have got.
I suppose you will be deciding Bradford or Nottingham.. Right ?
I will be going to NUBS. My friends / rels in UK are saying the NUBS is more known university than Bradford. That doesnt make Bradford bad or something.. But we get an option to select our specialization in NUBS in 2nd semester and I found the elective subjects are better in NUBS..
Now that is my point of view.. You can check out which course suits you more.. Because in all other aspects both are more or less the same..
And yeah, forget about the placements.. As such Univ. in UK dont offer placements as we have in India and USA.. Everyone has to search for jobs..
According to FT report, 94% students of NUBS got placed in 2008 within 3 months of graduation.. But that was just at the starting of recession.. Now things are not so easy there..

I think it depends on what and where you want to work after you've graduated. Nottingham has that international reputation so I would consider the. Have you spoken with students from the university? When I was going through the process I would contact their students and their alumni to get their opinion on things.

Can you please share feedbacks for NUBS MBA received from NUBS alums.
I am in same dillema.
I am prefering Sheffield over brad and notts because many of my UK friends have informed me that Shef/Notts/Bradford are in same league ( as they are relatively placed lower in rankings) and also that FT rankings are not absolute measure of schools success.Shef is student friendly university/city, cost of living is less also school fees are reasonable.

I have a few friends and relatives in UK. All of them suggested Nottingham is better than other Uni. Because of its world wide reputation... As you mentioned the rankings doesnt matter much as they are in the same league. But Notts and Bradford are definitely better than Sheffield..
Alumni's feedback was Nottingham univ. is really good, cooperative, the city is not too costly as compared to other big cities in UK..
Moreover, Notts is a very old city and has maintained its the British heritage like the name suggests.. So international exposure seems to be better than Bradford or Sheffield..
Again, this is my point of view..
You can contact each univ. and ask for a list of alumni..

so, does anyone know more about the full-time MBA course / syllabus in Nottingham and Sheffield? I wanna study marketing & communications, and my husband wants to study Info Systems & Mgmt Consultancy ... how are these courses in either of the two colleges?

... and how's the city life in notts and shef? what wud b the monthly living expense for a couple? are the people open to international students / residents? do international companies come to recruit from notts and shef? any other issues to be aware of?

bradford. nottingham is a dirty piece of land where british gangs go shooting themselves. check out the crime statistics, you may get shot in the head one day boy.

bradford is also tough with lots of paki thugs around but at least they on do petty crime.

academically, they are all equal with bradford very little better than nottingham in turn slightly better than shefield.

life in shefield is proper british middle class though
