Durham or Dublin?

I am a Canadian who has 5 years work experience in financial services and risk management and would like to do international management consulting and then branch into a company within 5 years

I have been accepted to both University College of Dublin Smurfit as well as Durham University for full-time MBA Programme Fall 2012.

Which is the right choice? both seem to have excellent recruitment and placements post graduation. both are triple accredited, which is more widely recognizable? I want to work internationally post-graduation

thanks!

I would choose UCD in a minute: higher salary; 100% employment. But neither have great careers services or strong brand equity. Can you get in anywhere better?

Duncan, why did you choose UCD? I thought the British favour the brand of Durham?

Because of the higher salary and 100% employment. Durham University is certainly older and better known, but UCD is that country's leading MBA and educates the national business elite. The Durham MBA will never have that standing in the UK market and, indeed, few British students would consider the Durham MBA (fewer than one in eight Durham MBAs are domestic, compared to half those at UCD). Unlike Durham, the UCD MBA has been in the FT 100 consistently in recent years. The higher salary, ranking and greater aims achieved are notable. For me the better employment and career services make the choice pretty obvious for most students, especially non-EU students, unless one had a specific goal or connection that made Durham the better choice.

You analysis is spot on, I would choose UCD over Durham anyday
