Hello,
Can I take the GMAT well ahead of time?
I ask because although I may not apply to graduate school for another full year-year and a half, I do have free time at the moment. As such, I would like to start studying sooner than later because this free time may not exist in the near future.
Do GMAT scores expire, or have an expiry date (just as long as it is reasonable?)
Thanks,
When to take the GMAT?

It's a great idea to take it early. Most schools will accept your scores for five years; a few for three years.
