UCD, Michael Smurfit School of Business

Dear All,

Today, I got an unconditional offer from the University College Dublin, Michael Smurfit School of Business for Masters In management course. From what I've seen, there are very mixed reviews about the course. I have a B.Tech degree and around 1.5 years of work experience.

Can anyone please give some reviews on the course and university?? and also about the career opportunities after the course.

Thanks in advance.

Why not call and ask them about career opportunities and placement statistics ?

Looking at the FT rankings for the last few years, it seems to be a strong programme with a increasingly profound weakness: it takes a large minority of the students a long time to get into work. I guess that is why, even though UCD is a strong school that trains the national elite, its MSc is close in non-EU tuition to ostensibly worse schools like Aarhus, Burgundy, Montpelier Normandie and Tias. I think you would get a great education there but, if your goal is employment, schools like Bradford, Strathclyde, Nova, Maastricht, HEC Lausanne and WU Vienna seem to be safer.

@Ayon: Thanks a lot for the reply:).
Can definitely call and ask but thought an alumnus or someone who knows the university can give a fair answer.
@Duncan : Thank you so much.
The other universities to which I applied are Warwick, Strathclyde, Manchester, Edinburgh & Cranfield.
I didn't get a decision though.
How are these universities???

Yaa....did see them before applying.
But couldn't get a clear idea about the career opportunities. So Wanted to know about the career opportunities after graduation..
