Transfer

Hello All! I started an evening MBA program with a top 20 (US) program. I have since decided that I would like to stay in engineering and work my way towards engineering management. The area I live in now (PNW) is NOT friendly to my current industry (Oil & Gas) and, through life events that were totally unexpected when I began my MBA journey, I find myself able to move to an area that is more friendly to my industry. Right now, an MBA provides VERY little benefit to my career development, though I would like to finish, mainly so I didn't waste the past two years of my life. Does anyone know of a program, either online or in the Houston area, that I could transfer into and complete within a year? All the information I have seen here indicates that most MBA programs will only take 3-12 credits but that is not what I am looking for. I don't care about MBA ranking or prestige, I know I won't be able to move up from the program I'm in now. It may be that the best option is to cool my heels for a year, graduate, and then look for a job but I wanted to at least check for alternatives first. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Thomas Edison might take the credits or Charter Oak. Nowhere good.

It's not usually in the best interest of the schools to accept transfer credits - after all, they basically lose money if you bring in credits from elsewhere - that's why they usually only offer a handful of transfer credits.

I suggest finishing out with the program you're in - an MBA top-20 school would certainly have some weight for you when you look for work. Start reaching out through the network early and see if there are any grads working in that region/firms you want to work in.
