[sorry for crossposting this, my initial post was in the "Europe" forum but I think this should go to "General"]

Hi all,

I plan to do an EMBA starting in 2011 (alternatively end of 2010) and wonder what are my chances given my age/background. Also I wonder if an EMBA is indeed the best choice given my circumstances.

When I apply during Q3/Q4 2010 I will be 32 years old and have 6 years full-time work experience at a global management and technology consulting firm. Including my relevant part-time work experience during university I will have a total of about 9 years work experience in the telecommunications and high-tech industries. At the time of application I will hold a management position within my company since one year. I work in Austria but would like to study at a business school somewhere out of my country (Europe preferred but not a must).

I wonder if an EMBA is indeed the best choice given that the average age of EMBA applicants seems to be around 35 and 40. Would my age and work experience be OK to apply to any of the top schools? (IE, INSEAD, IESE, London Business School, RSM, Duke, Kellog, ...)

I tend to go for an EMBA since I do not want to stop work during study.

I would rather not go for a part-time MBA since I have not found many programs which fit an EMBA-like out of office delivery mode. Transferring to another office in Europe to do weekly evening class is currently not an option for me due to my work responsibilities. Any suggestions/experiences here?

I would rather not do an online MBA because I would like to grow my professional network. I am not convinced that the typical "black-board" distance learning/forum approach would be enough to build lasting relationships with my MBA peers. What do you think?

Many thanks for all your feedback!
