Hi all, I am a working professional pursuing mba by distance learning. I am planning to go for pmp certification. Please suggest the scope of pmp after mba. Also, I was thinking of enrolling with Simplilearn for pmp training. Any suggestions?

The workload of the PMP exam can be compared with one subject in an MBA course: 150 to 200 hours. Less is possible, but with this amount of study you'll certainly pass. If you've already done an MBA you will see that some material is familiar (leadership, motivation styles, etc). If you're able to pass an MBA course obtaining the PMP certificate shouldn't be a problem. If you're interested in online learning you can also have a look at http://www.pmstudy.com/. I did my sample exam there and it was a pretty good indicator of what to expect for the real exam.

Hi Krikha,
To be eligible for pmp examination, you need to have 4500 hours of work experience in assisting or managing a project if you hold a bachelor's degree and 35 contact hours of formal PMP education. You can gain these 35 contact hours by any of the means mentioned in PMI handbook. Please go through the PMI handbook thoroughly : http://www.pmi.org/en/Certification/~/media/PDF/Certifications/pdc_pmphandbook.ashx
Also, if you are planning to take this training from an REP, Simplilearn is a good option. Refer their website and I think they have free resources on their website too. Go through them once and if you feel they are easy to understand you can opt for their training. Good Luck!!
