Hi everyone,
This is a girl in my late 20's interested in expanding my knowledge of marketing, more specifically in the area of marketing strategy. During my career I've held marketing fuctions more on the tactical side (SEO, PPC, Social Media) however I feel like I lack expertise on strategy.
I would like to learn how to create an effective strategic marketing plan combining online & offline, how to define a marketing strategy (segmentation, targeting, positioning...), how to write value propositions... In short, to gain a skill set that enables me to become very critical with my own decisions.
My objective is to gain a strategic overview of marketing that I can apply further on my career. Would like to learn the core principles of marketing strategy that can be applied for instance to digital marketing.
Could you please recommend me the best Master´s degrees with an emphasis on Marketing Strategy?
Upong graduation I'd like to work either in UK or US, so I´m also open to Masters of Science in Marketing in the US.
FYI I'm not interested in MBA, only in MSc Marketing. I want to become an accomplished Marketing Strategist.
Which are the best MSc in this discpline?
Thanks for your assistance.

I think the outstanding programme is the masters in marketing practise at UCD Smurfit, but that is in Ireland.
Otherwise, Warwick, Cranfield, Lancaster, Imperial, Columbia and UTD are the schools i would focus on. Maybe Birmingham, Edinburgh and Simon/Rochester too.

Duncan, I really appreciate your recommendations, you mentioned all the schools I had in mind after doing some research. They all seem to offer a strong focus on marketing strategy but now let's try to go beyond in the analysis:
DISCARDED SCHOOLS
Imperial: MSc oriented only to talented recent graduates in their early 20's (not my case)
Columbia: very expensive program targeted at Market researchers or Phd candidates (not my areas of interest)
Warwick: very unclear, confusing curriculum not really broken down. It seems like a very theoretical program built upon the reputation of the school.
PREFERRED SCHOOLS
Based on my background I might be a better fit for:
Cranfield: good reputation around Europe and with decent balance of recent graduates and experienced professionals. I´ve heard that their career service department is second to none
Lancaster: they offer the MSc in Advanced Marketing which is aimed at marketing professionals (strength) however I am afraid Lancaster is barely known outside the UK
UCD Smurfit: as you said MSc Marketing Practice offers a very interesting approach (learning by doing) and covers my main areas of interest (segmenting, targeting, positioning, value propositions, real client marketing plans...) however it looks like a local school perfect for Irish or internationals who want to settle down in Dublin...Not really confident on the school reputation outside Ireland
UTD: in my humble opinion they have the most appealing MSc Marketing curriculum in the US giving you the possibility to choose a track. The website provides lots of insighful info on the MSc but again I´m not really sure on the school prestige outside Texas State. The main inconvenient of UTD are the high tuition fees (> $30,000 if Im not mistaken).
Duncan, out of all the options you mentioned, which schools do you think have a stronger brand name internationally enabling a better career progression? Even though UK and US are my priority destinations to study the MSc, life takes many twists and turns and I might be moving eventually to other countries. Before taking this important decision I want to ensure that I make a smart investment that is going to be equally successful if I choose to develop my career abroad.
I hope you can shed some light on this.
Thanks!
