There is no doubt both good career options these "MBA or MS Accounting" but a student have to choose one from these two.

An MBA is more valuable since the salaries are higher and it allows more options.

Agreed. Or you could have the best of both words with an MS/MBA dual degree: Boston University offers this program, for example, which can be completed in 21 months.
Or you could do an MBA with integrated CPA prep - CUNY/Zicklin has a good program along these lines.
Some schools also offer MBA concentrations in accounting: NYU Stern, Pace Lubin, Kellogg, Georgia State - Robinson, and many more offer this option.
