Hi,
I am considering one of these IIM Executive education courses. Please advice..
IIM-A
-------
3TP: Middle Management (Winter) ( 20 days)
http://www.iimahd.ernet.in/executive-education/programme-calendar.html&mdpID=5
IIM-B
------
Advanced Management Programme (AMP) or
General Management Programme for IT Executives (GMITE)
Both spread over a year..

Hi Duncan/all,
I know it is one of the 'vanity' programs but which one is better? Worth going from London to start build up Indian network before my finale "going home" project? Given both institutes offer some sort of Alumni status to help build network.
Thanks.

I don't think these are vanity programmes. They are demanding and selective.
What are your goals?

Duncan,
My goal is to get back to senior managment in IT sector or IT division in other sectors in any MNCs in India.
I lost touch with Indian job market for more than a decade. So I need re-establish networks and contacts and re-enter.
What else could be a better place to re-ignite and boost career in India than IIM?
But the problem I face is getting into full-time PGPX, it is extremely tough. I have 2 years time to fully switch to India. So I am thinking why not start with one of the above mentioned to get a feel.
It is like dipping leg to test waters before jumping in.
What do you think?
Thanks

The IIM-B programmes will give you a more regional network but more solid relationships, since you'll be meetings again and again during a year. But they are explicitly not open for placement assistance.
IIM-A programmes of 21 days and above lead to alumni status: that's perhaps a better bet.

Thanks Duncan for sharing your views.
I am going to apply for both beacuse it is not exactly open programmes, there is selection process. This is going to be my order of preference if selected both.
IIM-A - 3TP
IIM-B - AMP
On the Alumni status side, it looks like IIM-B gives full alumni status and IIM-A give MDP Alumni (a cut down version of full Alumni?) . Am I reading it right?
