Global EMBA - Fuqua vs. Kenan-Flagler

Tiare4747

Hello,

I have seen a few forum comparisons of the Fuqua and Kenan-Flagler programs at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill, respectively. However, I have not seen a topic that targets their Global MBA programs. Does anyone have feedback on either program to advise one over the other? I have been accepted into both global EMBA programs and my decision is strictly coming down to ROI of the program in relation to time/money invested. If anyone has any experiences with the program and balancing family life, I would greatly appreciate any feedback on that as well.

Cheers!

Which of Kenan-Flagler's EMBAs did you get accepted to? They have their core EMBA, which is delivered on weekends or evenings, and the EMBA offered through the OneMBA consortium.

The Duke program is very well-regarded. UNC's regular EMBA is probably not comparable, but the OneMBA program is great for networking at the other schools in the consortium. Overall, the Duke program is probably the best of the bunch.

I was accepted into the Global EMBA program (global residencies) at both schools. That is very helpful, thank you for your feedback!

I'm also looking for some thoughts on these two programs (Duke's GEMBA vs the OneMBA). I've been accepted at Duke, and expect to hear back on the OneMBA next week. Overall I think I like the format of the OneMBA program more, with more face to face class time and the fact that the global portion is delivered in partnership with international schools, which means you have teammates coming from all the different schools.

But Duke of course is Duke, with a better brand and generally a little higher ranked than UNC. They also have a concentration in Energy and Environment that is appealing to me, as I'm looking to transition into that industry.

Beyond the structural differences, the curriculum seems fairly similar and I'm not either has a major advantage for getting me closer to my goal of a BD role in a startup or early growth stage company.
