Career change into finance - get experience first or MBA?

Lorenzz

As a 31 year old looking for a career change into something with a better prospect and a more challenging and stimulating environment, I'm considering studying and MBA and making a move into finance. I'm interested especially in Marketing. I've got a BA in Sociology but have always had jobs to pay the bills (admin kind of jobs), so I haven't built a consistent CV in one particular path or gathered relevant experience.

Would it be more important to try get some experience first in Marketing via an entry level job, or is looking for an MBA first the right idea?

Thanks!

Completing an MBA can give you a strong head-start in marketing field. As long as you have business acumens, pursuing MBA won't be a problem. Most people attend MBA to either strengthen themselves and upgrade to a bigger role within a specific industry or to change career.
