Anyone think BPP University mba is a good one to have? Or is it just a waste of resources?

I think that depends on the alternatives and goals. I think most applicants will be better somewhere else.

Thanks for the reply.

Alternative? I don't have much option really. I'm an international student and I can't afford more than 13k as tuition fee. I still have the whole London living expenses to contend with.

Career goals: Well, I want to get a good job somewhere in the UK. I already have a previous masters from Surrey and I'm hoping to do a Ph.D in a not too distant future.

I understand it is important to have an MBA with international accreditation but the fees are beyond me now. Maybe I'll just do an MSC in management at the same school instead and leave it at that. Then plan towards the Ph.D in a more recognized higher institution.

I'm hoping to focus my Ph.D research in management so basically, the MBA/Msc is to provide me a solid foundation.

A good PhD will include all the course work you need. Apply.for a PhD.

Or take a research masters in a business school and use that to get into PhD. Those are often cheaper than a taught masters and a research masters will make you stand out more than an MBA when you apply for a doctorate. Where I teach (Edinburgh) we seem to have more have PhD students with an MPhil/MRes than an MBA. They are well positioned for scholarships.

Thanks for the informative response Duncan. I'll definitely look into the MPil/MRes option and decide.
Many thanks.

There are also some inexpensive MA programmes which are a good grounding for PhD studies. Zurich is a good example. http://www.business.uzh.ch/en/teaching/programs/master.html
