Benefits of an EMBA?

Hi All

I am an alumnus of a top 5 global business school (exec programme). I was wondering whether there is any benefit in studying an EMBA given I already have access to the benefits of a top b-school? I come from the Banking industry and I am looking to start my own venture in the near future. I understand an EMBA will provide me with a toolbox and functional knowledge, but would it not be possible to learn the same through a MOOC/ other part-time Masters that are generally much cheaper than an EMBA?

Thanks

That depends on the program, when you took it and how well you already use your network. I think the assessment, project work and advanced electives in my EMBA added a lot.

I only recently completed it and therefore have not really had the opportunity to use the alumni benefits. The reason I am thinking of an EMBA is I did enjoy the academics. However an EMBA at a top school costs a fortune and a huge investment of ones time; therefore I am not really sure if the benefits outweigh the costs considering I am considering going down the entrepreneurial route and moving away from big business.

Oh, the benefits will certainly outweigh the costs.
