What are your goals? Considering your low undergraduate mark and your relatively low amount of work experience, you will be in a much stronger position if you wait another year. Accreditation in Europe, from AMBA, requires three years' work experience and if you might want to work in the UK then it will be much better if you get into the best school you can.

Post mba i want to get into consultancy as i am currently doing a c.s degree ...also by the start of the course in 2014 i will have full 3 yrs of post gradz wk ex with my current job... though i have worked as an asst. manager in a manufacturing company for almost 2+ yrs full time while doing my undergraduate degree ( thats the reason behind my low gradz marks), i know it wont be counted. Could you suggest what else will help me improve my application.

What sort of consultancy? I think you mean an IT services company rather than a strategy consultancy.

Of course it *is* possible for you to take an online course. You're online right now. There's some other thing holding you back, I imagine, but I am sure there are credit-breaking tests you can enrol for with tests this year. Of course you can give excuses, but grades will help.

The GMAT is not enough because your low work experience means that you don't have as much to contribute in a discussion-based classroom, or in project work that depends on cross cultural leadership and soft skills, as the average candidate.

Look at the second half of this list: http://www.find-mba.com/board/27082

Dear duncan,
Taking your advise i have not applied to any b-schools in uk for mba this year, Also as your suggestion i am to enroll myself for a part time 7 months course on certified capital market professional. As I am already in company secretary(CS,ICSI) intermediate level, i have registered for Chartered Accountancy (ICAI), intermediate, as i always had interest in finance and also as plan B since I am not interested in doing mba in india. And since all these are part time n distance learning professional courses, i can carry on with my full time job as product supervisor too with a bit of balancing
Your advise on this...
Thanking you !

If it's not an academic course with a grade, then just give whatever mark they give you. The admissions team will then use whatever conversion method they use, if it's a certification they are familiar with. The purpose of the course is really to be able to prove that your GPA doesn't reflect your current academic ability.

That's a great thing to mention in your application. Of course what will make them more comfortable will be something more like graduate school study.
