Spring intake MBA or wait until fall

OPP 489

Hi, I've been rejected for the spring intakes at Insead and HEC Paris. Now I have a bit of a question - do I apply for other not so good MBA programs now to start in the spring, or just wait until fall and try again at better schools?

My GMAT score is definitely an issue - I rushed to apply and got a 640. I know that I could get my GMAT score up.

The problem is I am currently unemployed and the longer I wait to apply, the longer my period of unemployment will be. That's why I wanted to start in the spring rather than the fall.

Before I decide to wait until fall though, any advice on which schools in Europe have spring intakes and I can apply?

What are your career goals? If you wanted to go into, say, consulting, then I would not suggest picking a school just because it offers an intake in the fall - I'd say wait for Insead.

I'm not sure what my career goals are, honestly. I would like to work in Europe for a couple of years. I am currently a project manager in IT and I might stay in IT but I am not sure yet. I just want to get into the best school possible so I have the most options.

I was at the same situation as you were. I suggest that you wait for another year for Aug/Sept entry rather than joining a worse school, which is what I am doing now. Go for Insead if you can, if not apply to more schools and see how it goes.
