SBS-Swiss Business School

Hi I need some advice. I am interested in the MBA program SBS-swiss business school in zurich has to offer. Do you know if it is a good school to spend all that money on. I am canadian so i dont know if i get a degree from them if it would be recognized world wide. Secondly, have you heard any feed back on their curriculum in terms of the work load with the Exec MBA, reason i am asking is because i would like to work while i go to school. thanks I look forward to your reply

You should find lots of interesting info's about the SBS program here:

http://www.find-mba.com/boardsearch/q/SBS-Swiss+Business+School

searching the board for past posts comes in handy sometimes...;-)

and in general, if you want to know about recognition, you should check they're accreditation, and they're rankings.

thxs Andy for your reply, SBS has some accreditation but i have no idea what they mean.

I have heard horror stories of people spending thousands of dollars and the degree is worth nothing in the end.

Hey curious, I sent you a P.M., I'm from Calgary, wouldn't mind chatting with you on the subject of SBS and others you might be looking at. I'm actually scheduling my interview at SBS in Dec., I can pass the info on if you want... later...

If you would like to know more about rankings and what they mean, you should read this great article:

http://www.find-mba.com/article/176/rankings-what-they-can-and-cant-tell-you-about-a-business-school

i think you really should get to know a bit more about it because, as you stated, nobody wants to spend thousand of dollars on a MBA and find out it was useless!

I haven't looked at the SBS MBA myself lately, but when it comes to general info on accreditation, the main ones you want to look out for are AMBA (UK), FIBAA (Germany and Austria), Conference des Grandes Ecoles (France + Switzerland), EQUIS (Europe and Asia), AACSB (US), ACBSP (US). The US also has a number of more local, state-wide accrediting bodies, while some countries - Germany and Austria, for example - also employ a governmentally-regulated federal system. Ideally one would prefer to see at least one of the major acc. bodies listed as recognising a particular programme.
