MBA ITALY as non-italian speaker

정성훈

Hi I am currently working in business innovation team as SCM job in one of electricity company from Korea (Korean national). since switched major from fashion design to economics, working in fashion industry has been what I've dreamed of always.

After 5year of working in electrocity field, I decided to try to switch my career to the field I wanted to be in. when I searched famous business school for fashion management. bocconi was always on one of the top schools (Also considering other schools in europe since im in turkey now). my goal is to experience luxury brand management in italy and move to asian branch as higher position. but considering real job market, I doubt that I can have opportunity in europe because I can not speak national language of those countries which most luxury brands are located in. to be realistic, I am 32years (to be around 34~5 after MBA), male.

Am I too idealistic? welcome to any critisism and advice. and is bocconi worth for that career path?

Thank you.

Take a look at: Luxury & Luxury Brand Management http://www.find-mba.com/board/24603 and Do you need to speak the local language? www.find-mba.com/board/34713

Also consider ESSEC, if only because

a] It has a campus in the Far East, and

b] you seem to know English and that's closer to French than to Italian: https://www.essec.edu/en/program/mbas/global-mba/mba_majors/luxury-brand-management/

Italian is easier as a beginner but, at the higher states, the grammer is much more challenging than French.

Thanks for realistic answer Duncan.

ESSEC seems nice too because it seems to offer more fashion mgmt.-oridented education and tuition is reletively lower than bocconi.

and your explanation about language learning makes also sens. Do you possibly know statistic information (like placement and others about both school? and do you have some more schools offering fasion mgmt. education on your recommendation? (FYI, since I am already working in turkey now, EU school would be preferable).

Thank you

As you can see from the articles, I am very sceptical about placement for people who cannot speak the local language to a professional level. If you have that language level, which would take you a year of intensive language in that country, you would have a lot to offer.
