Some ideas about the Spanish MBA programs? Alguien de Espana me puede decir algo sobre estos programas?
I would love to spend a year or two down there but only if it pays off of course. Your input is appreciated!

The Spanish B schools are quite reputable so you cannot really make a bad choice. In the rankings IESE is doing best followed by IE and ESADE. As far as which campus to choose I am not sure whether there any differences between the two. If you are planning on gaining some Spanish language skills besides the MBA you should go to madrid as people in Barcelona talk Catalan among themselves. Mucha suerte!

Te agradezco mucho! I am relieved to hear that since I was still doubting whether going to Spain would lower the value of my MBA compared, say, to a US MBA. I think I will go to Madrid, after all its the capital, its twice as big as Barcelona and its not as overcrowded with (EU) foreigners as Barcelona (and the nightlife is more excessive than B too...;-)).

I think ESADE is originally from Barcelona so the campus there is presumably more established..

Your concern about the reputation of a "Spanish" MBA in the US is valid. You may consider solving that problem with a global program offered in Spain. The Barcelona Management Institute (full disclosure: I am teaching a section of "What the CEO wants you to know" there this summer) is an international program in Barcelona which has Professors who teach at the top ranked US programs. For example, University of Michigan, MIT, Stanford, etc. Financial Times Conferences just profiled them. You can see the background video here: www.barcelonami.tv
