I think they will look for more work experience. Isn't the average age around 28?

With a high GMAT and little work experience you are best suited for Indian business schools. More broadly, look at the schools I list at:
http://www.find-mba.com/board/23675
I would look especially closely at:
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA)
Eada
Texas A & M University: Mays
Pepperdine University: Graziadio
Bradford School of Management
TiasNimbas Business School

Hi Duncan
I am 10 yr exp Indian IT Professional looking to do full time MBA from Lbs.
I gave my GMAT 3. Times With dismal scores
1st time I was not serious and sat for the exam
2nd time - some issues with the environment and noise and slipped again
3rd time - I was scoring consistently above 650 in all GMAT tests but still failed to reach a decent score
What are my chances for my MBA now at lbs ?
Please help me with the realistic score I should look at for admissions in lbs

I don't know much about your background, but unless you have some international exposure, leadership experience, global plans or something else really unusually about your application I don't see how you can be a competitive candidate with a GMAT under 700.
Take a look at the schools at the top of tiers three and four on the GMAT Tiers post:

Yes, the schools I have mentioned above all have older students, and more average work experience, than IE or LBS.

Although ages range up to 37 in the LBS MBA program, this is not the norm. If you can't get at least 700 on the GMAT, I'd say that this school is out of the question for you.

LBS looks the same as most other top schools. Generally the more you practice, the better you get. I would expect most people to out on at least 20 points with each GMAT retake. If your GMAT isn't improving substantially, then interviewers would be looking for other evidence of your academic ability, and especially at the balance between your GMAT elements. Remember, there are a lot of applicants to LBS who perfectly fit the school's profile.
It sounds like LBS is a stretch school for you. What other schools are you looking at?

Hi Sathya. My contact details are at http://www.find-mba.com/about/Duncan

Try INSEAD. Their recruiter recently discouraged me from applying because I have lots of experience and am 38. She gave me the impression they are looking for younger candidates. In fact she specifically mentioned the age of 24 when referring to the student body and illustrating why I, at 38, should not apply.
You should also speak with the program marketing people from all the schools you are looking at. I have spoken with several and they provide valuable information (have your questions ready). As disappointing as INSEAD's stance on my age is, I greatly appreciated their honesty. They saved me several hours in application time and fees that apparently would have been hopeless.
Good luck!

I guess that's an ironic suggestion: this person would b wasting their time at Insead. Half to cohort goes to one firm, and its needs essentially determine the recruitment strategy there.
