INSEAD vs LBS

Hello all,

I'm torn between two renowned business schools for international business, INSEAD and London Business School, and I would appreciate your insights. I have a marketing background and aim to transition into a leadership role. INSEAD's global reputation and diverse student body appeal to me, but I'm concerned about the rigorous workload. London Business School's strong network and proximity to the UK's business hub are enticing, yet the higher living costs worry me. If you have attended either school or have relevant experiences, I'd be grateful for any advice on curriculum, career opportunities, and overall student experience.

Thank you!

Where do you want to work? I think MBAs typically go into solo contribution roles or managerial roles rather than leadership positions. Insead is great for McKinsey, Goldman and other major partners.  LBS is better for transitions out of your current industry or country.

Are you sure studying for an MBA is right for you at this time if you are concerned about the workload? I vividly remember one alumni student giving a talk at an MBA open day that I attended, explaining that every year, at least one student got divorced as a result of the pressure of the course.

Thank you Duncan, those are relevant points to consider. I guess in that sense, LBS might line up better with my interests.

aslamo, thanks for your words. I'll think about it hard before making any final decisions. I appreciate the concern.
