Is Australia a good place to go?

helloKim

I am thinking about doing my MBA at either Melbourne Business School or MGSM. I am not from the country but I want to go there and be able to work after I graduate.

Does anybody know the visa situation there? Is it easy to get a visa for non-AUS nationals? And the job market, I have heard it is good in some places but not so good in other cities.

Melbourne Business School ranks in the top 10 globally in terms of international mobility in the FT Ranking, so, yes, in general that's a good choice if you're looking to transition into the country.

I believe that visa options are fairly open, you can at least apply to get a post-study visa, which allows for work. Check with the career resources departments of the business schools that you're looking at, they'll have more up-to-date info on this.

It also depends on what kinds of jobs you'll be looking for after graduating.

Do you have any ideas about how the job scenarios are in Melbourne and in Sydney? Also, how do you feel about AGSM?

In terms of my goals I am in the energy field right now, in a client relations role but I would like to get into the marketing field. I will check with the career resources departments of the business schools.

AGSM is a good school, ranked in the FT, and is also good in terms of international mobility.

As for Sydney vs. Melbourne that's something you should look into yourself. My gut feeling is that there are probably more marketing jobs in Melbourne than Sydney, and that Sydney would probably better for finance, banking, etc.
