Hi genta, a friend of mine did the program and he like dit very much. The school has very good reputation. The only thing is that the program seems to be very challenging. As it is a one-year MBA you will not have time for much else than studying...

many thanks and sorry for the little delay! Yes, that is also what I heard about the school, I will definitely apply, fingers crossed.. If there is any INSEAD alumni out there, please share your experience, cheers

Genta, I am also considering the INSEAD program. Do you know if there any Chinese language requirements in Singapore?
Posted Jul 27, 2005 13:55
As far as I know the program is taught entirely in English but youre right, they do have a requirement for a second language besides English. i think it has to be one of the local languages, so Chinese would be an option, not sure about that though..

I am current INSEAD student. Yes course is very good, definitely right school for me. You will be very busy for the whole year, but you will make time to party and not spend 100% of the time studying.
The whole course is taught in English and you need to be fairly proficient in at least one other language to get accepted. It doesn't matter which language, so long as it is economically useful. You will need a third language in order to graduate, and you can learn it during the MBA or perhaps over summer if you start in January.

As far as I know INSEAD is ranked higher. Did you check the rankings (http://www.find-mba.com/mba-rankings)?

I am currently an NUS student studying Science. I'll be finishing 3rd year in another half a year's time. Was thinking of applying for an MBA at INSEAD after that. I won't be doing an additional honours year. I was wondering if that will be a disadvantage when I apply. Also, are there any additional requirements? Can any current students advise? Would really appreciate it!

hi,
does anybody know here if there are strict requirements about the first degree? i mean i have a degree in international marketing but it was a distanced education (i did all the tests at home and went to uni once a year for two month classes and exams afterwards. and that was it.). insead singapore sounds just perfect, though a bit expensive but id like to do that anyway.
so do you think its still possible for me to apply? considering id have good gmat and toefl results and speak reasonable chinese?
tahnks in advance.

I only that the language requirements are not too demanding. So with a fair knowledge of Mandarin, you should definitely be on the safe side as far as this part of your.profile is concerned.
Posted Jul 19, 2006 00:17
really? Some Mandarin is required? (not that it would be a bad thing :) )
Posted Jul 19, 2006 09:58
Well, as far as I know you have to provide proof that you know two languages, one of them being English. A Japanese friend of mine had Mandarin as a second language and I believe that if you start in Singapore the second language is required to be Mandarin, I am not entirely sure however. The required level for Mandarin is apparently very low though.

hi i m lokesh. i just wanna know whether INSEAD singapore invites application from freshers or with one year experience.
Posted Mar 07, 2007 14:08
Hi Lokesh,
INSEAD singapore is indeed more flexible than other bschools tend to be, applicants with very little work experience are not in principe excluded, but have to prove exceptional achievements.
There is the following info on their website:
"In general, INSEAD participants have had several years of professional experience and demonstrate clear managerial potential and a career-oriented focus. However, we do not preclude applications from exceptional younger applicants with little work experience, provided they can demonstrate unusual maturity."
Hope that helps!
