What is your interest? Energy? Finance? Mgmt Consultant?
All of the schools mentioned are famous in their respective area/region.
Ie. U alberta is very good in energy specialization.
I know that UBC undergrad is famous for its engineering program.
So I would guess that their MBA is strong in technopreneurship.
(like Stanford, MIT, Imperial college).
For HEC montreal & McGill, I am not too sure.
I know that, in asia, people recognize U of Toronto, McGill, Ivey and UBC.

Thanks Rhino. Actually my interest is in Finance and i am looking at UBC with keen interest but don't know how strong their MBA is. I will also like to know if other foreign professional qualifications like ACCA is recognised in Canada for working post MBA. Thanks.

Before you do your MBA at UBC.
I'd suggest to find an UBC alumni (maybe can ask UBC for an e-mail address)
and clear out your doubts.
If that's not possible, you can always google and ask around in forums (ie. Redflag, pagalguy).
And get a sense of what UBC MBA stand for. Is it finance? Marketing? Corporate strategy?
Btw, I think ACCA is known more in Canada & asia rather than the U.S. and australia (where CPA is big).
You can always google 'ACCA in canada', then subsequently 'CPA in canada'.
Then you get a feel of it.
I always believe that doing ACCA is worth more than CPA, unless you want to work in U.S. or Australia, because it covers more accountancy subjects than CPA.

You're right, McGill is the most internationally known canadian school (especially in Asia).
They have great program. However, their rank has been suffering.
In 2006, their rank (FT rank) sunk significantly from 44 to 90.
I still don't understand why McGill MBA rank is sooo pathetic.
Why? oh why?...

Whoever had the account deleted did not tell the whole story or my story is different from yours.
Queens is very well-known in North-America and so as Ivey or Rotman which is a fair bit more well-known than McGill
Of course there are other programmes as well that vary in depth or concentration.
I am not sure what companies do you run? What kind of directors that never heard off Rotman or Ivey or Queens man? If you have the gut to come up with the names
For god sake, that Mintzberg is a little prick, sure he is brave and i enjoy his writing but from an academic viewpoint his work is very much narrative bit and pieces here and there without a connecting overall idea.
Peter Drucker is still the guru and MBA today owe very much to the father of management
