MBA - The right choice for me

Bashboard

Hi Duncan, hi everyone,

I'm currently doing my B.Sc. in Business at a German University. As I will graduate this summer, I'm planning to have a "gap year" travelling the world and doing an internship. Summer/Fall next year I want to continue studying and therefore I want to go to the US (for the ecperience, great education, build my carreer, plus I love the US!). By that time, I'll be 22 and I'll have about one year of work experience..
My problem is, that I just don't know what program is right for me! I definitely want to go into business, but as I'm not really into research etc. I thought an MBA would be just right for me (I prefer case studies over theoretical lectures). I know the average MBA student is about 28 y.o. but there are many successful managers that did the MBA without noteworthy workexperience - so what shall I do? Somehow I must be able to have an advantage out of my young age, right?

Thanks for your help,
best, Bashboard

MBAs are generally designed for those who those who have at least two to three years of work experience. As such, unless you have something else really interesting about your profile, I doubt you would be a competitive applicant for most internationally-accredited MBA programs.

If you are interested in studying management, though, there are a variety of master in management programs designed for people with little to no work experience. You can read this article to get started with your research:

That sounds like a GMAT around 550. Try google? https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%22one+year+MBA%22+550+&oq=%22one+year+MBA%22+550+&aqs=chrome..69i57.7774j0j4&sourceid=chrome&espv=210&es_sm=91&ie=UTF-8#q=%22one+year+MBA%22+GMAT+550+site%3A.edu&safe=off
