MBA institutes without GMAT requirement

ssingh21

Hi All,

I want to get into an MBA program in the UK, preferably in south or central UK. I have a Bachelor of Technology degree in IT with 84% marks and have more than 4 years experience in the IT sector.. I would like to get a job in IT or consulting sector after completing MBA. I don't want to take the GMAT. Can someone please suggest some suitable institutes for me. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance for all the help :-).

It's hard to answer that without knowing more about your work experience and the rest of your life. Why not take the GMAT? See Why you should take the GMAT http://bit.ly/WhyGMAT

Some schools like Lancaster and Brunel will waive the GMAT based on some factors like the number of years of work experience.

But the higher ranked schools - ie the schools that will give you the best chances of landing a job in the UK after graduation - will require the GMAT. It's almost always a good idea to take the GMAT, especially since I'm assuming you don't have UK residency.

There are other options, for instance Manchester accepts the GRE or even its own in-house admissions test.

Good sir,
Just take the GMAT. Everybody does. If not you are limiting yourself to about 2% of the schools out there. And it's not the good 2% either.

Hope this helps,
Yaron

Well, it often seems that almost all MBA programs require the GMAT but, when we take a closer look, we actually see that there are thousands of them and most of them have minimal requirements. Even in the top 100, there are more than 2% that will waive the GMAT (as Laurie shows). The point about the GMAT isn't that you can't get into most MBAs without it, because you can, but that the MBAs that require the GMAT are, on average, better than those that do not.
