work experience

hello, I am new at this board.
I was wondering about required work experience to do an MBA. I've been working for not even a year and I want to do an MBA now? Is that too early, what is your opinion?
Thank you

Hello,
It's true that it would be better to have some more work experience. You should check the admission requirements of the MBAs you are interested in, they most of the time give a minimum work experience requirement. That will give you an idea.
But the time you'll need to find out which MBA to do, and to apply and start studying, you'll have maybe 2 years work experience already....

I have seen the admission condition for some programs, you are right, most ask for some years of working experience. 2 years seems to be minimum requirement.
The whole process of applying before actually enrolling seems to take quite some time as well.
I guess I am too impatient...
Thanks, Ripon

I think you are definitely too impatient. If you've been working for one year it is way too early. You should just forget about school and concentrate on your work. Try to get better at it, try to get into a better position. An MBA is good when you've been working for a few years and you feel that you've been subject to so many experiences that you need someone to help you understand them better, or when you feel that in order to get into a diffferent field or position you would need some extra training. If you do an MBA after one-year work, what will you do in five years?

Thanks for this Jaitego. That's what I thought. I've been reading other posts about the subject too, and I understand now better what the sense of an MBA is. YOU resume it perfectly I think.
It's just that I am a bit frustrated in my work and I feel not challenged enough, so I thought an MBA would be a way out - and allow me to upgrade consistantly my position.
But now I think dealing with those feelings is part of the whole exercise getting first work experience.
Thanks, Ripon
