IE - are the Additional Information questions considered essays?

Rupert

Hi guys,
this is the first post here on Find MBA.

I'm applying to IE for the International MBA; in the application there are several Information Questions and 3 essays.

I know that essays have a clear structure, an introduction, one or more paragraphs and a conclusion (at least 250 words long), and follow some specific rules, but the question is: should I consider the Additional Questions as smaller essays?

In this type of questions I have no more than 150/170 words, in some case the words are less... should I follow "standard" essay rules or not?

For example at the question "What are your reasons for applying to IE?" can I just answer with my 3 key reasons, without writing any specific introduction and without any conclusion/wrap up?

Can anyone help me on this?

Thank you so much.

Hey Rupert - Welcome. Your post above is about 140 words. So, no, I don't anyone could expect your answers can be formally structured with an intro, conclusion, etc. I'd say you can describe your three key reasons without a formal wrap-up.

Good luck. Let us know how the rest of the app process goes!

Hi Evan, thanks so much for your reply.

I have the same opinion, I feel the answer would only be on topic and clearly expressed.

I'll keep you updated!
