German MBA information

guerand

Hello everyone! I hope someone can help me figure out the following. I was born and raised in Mexico, but just received my German nationality through my grandfather. I am very interested in my German roots and I am looking forward to expand my cultural knowledge of this country by going there for a couple of years. At the same time, I would like to take the opportunity to study an MBA. I would be on a limited budget and therefore I am trying to find information regarding financial assistance for Germans. From what I have been able to read, and from a distant relative, I understand that the German government provides educational and boarding subsidies. Does anyone know more information regarding this? Unfortunately, all these information is in German and I am unable to read it from websites. (you don't get a lot of Germans who don't speak German! hehe) I appreciate those who took the time to read this and would love to hear from someone who can help! Thank you.

Try http://www.daadmx.org/es/index.html

I am not aware of any specific assistance for Germans outside Germany, but they will know.

If you don't speak German, there will be a big opportunity cost to your career if you study in Germany. The network and brand will be almost worthless.

Duncan,

Thanks for your reply. I will definitely check it out. I am thinking of an MBA given in the English language. Therefore, I would imagine that the networking would be among English speaking students. Knowing that, would you still not recommend it? Are German MBAs not well acknowledged by American companies? (Currently reside in Houston, Tx).

Is there a website where I can see the Public university rankings for an MBA?

Thanks for the help,

No, I don't think any German schools are well known in the US. It will be taken as a generic MBA. AACSB accreditation will help, but you won't have any brand equity.

I don't think there are any rankings that separate public from private universities. Why would anyone do that?
