HKU MBA

abishek.m

1. Many typical IT engineers now working in shipping finance in Singapore, carbon trading in HK, medium-sized consulting in HK, few in Dubai developing strategies for big groups. Some of the companies I remember my classmates and some alumni I know work for are ? Standard Chartered, Citi, ING, Credit Suisse, Huntsman, IBM, Philips, L?Oreal, Prudential etc.
2. Many Chinese folks who worked at State Owned Enterprises and now are working in companies like LVMH, Intel, Blackrock, Deutshe Bank, DHL, UBS, Philips, Fidelity, FedEx and so on.
3. Westerners working in HK in companies like Goldman sacs, Van cliff & Arples and in fact many of them went back to their country of origin to become so called ?Asia expert? which in today?s business world is the most sought after qualification.

Cmon man, its ok to try to defend against other comments, but career stats are easily checked and your statements dont hold up here.

First of all, its not many but very few in between for the firms you had listed.

As for Indians post HKU working in Singapore and HK in shipping finance and carbon trading, all I can say is LOL

Dude, you are the one who got to get the facts right. Don?t just comment for the sake of commenting. I personally know the people I have mentioned.

dontgohku you really have NO idea about HKU MBA. HKU MBA is Faculty of Business and Economics !! ha ha, you proved it that you in fact have NO connection with HKU MBA but still keep commenting. Just stop it and go back to your 'top' business school. All the professors listed by western grad are teaching MBA at HKU.

I don't see why I should go away as you suggest; the purpose of this board is for prospective students to get information and opinions on the different programmes out there. I never claimed to be associated with the HKU MBA, I am merely expressing my opinion on the programme as someone who looked into it and found it lacking in several fundamental respects. So, I will repeat it once again: an HKU MBA is not a good investment, you can do better for your time and money, buyer beware!

PS: You seem to have the mentality of a PRC government censor, hardly the kind of classmate I would wish to have when learning about business!!

I don't think that someone who signs up to this discussion board with the username "dontgohku" - ie obviously just to attack one particluar school - should blame anyone else to be one-sided. Just my 2 cents...
