London Business School Announces New 1-Year MBA

Accelerated program designed exclusively for holders of a Masters in Management degree

London Business School (LBS), whose MBA program is frequently ranked as one of the top in the world, has announced the launch of an accelerated, one-year MBA to accompany its standard two-year program.

Admissions to the one-year program is reserved for previous graduates of a Masters in Management (MiM) degree who have racked up at least three years of high-caliber work experience.

The first cohort of the new program will begin in August 2025, with applications opening July 2024.

To be eligible for the accelerated MBA from LBS, applicants must hold a MiM degree (or equivalent) from either a University of London member institution or a business school anywhere in the world approved by the EQUIS or AACSB accreditation bodies.

The announcement from LBS comes at a time when global demand is rising for one-year MBA degrees. According to a summary report from the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), in 2022 interest in one-year MBAs surpassed that in traditional two-year programs for the first time.

Tuition fees for the LBS accelerated MBA are expected to be £75,000, compared to the £115,000 cost of the two-year program.

After completing a condensed curriculum of core courses, participating students can customize their degree with an array of electives in areas such as finance, economics, entrepreneurship, and accounting. For more program details, visit the London Business School website.
