Boston University to Launch an Online MBA

New program to be delivered in partnership with online education platform edX

Boston University's Questrom School of Business has announced plans to launch an Online MBA program.

To deliver the new program, the school is partnering with edX, an online course provider.

The new Online MBA will include 45 credit-hours of coursework, delivered over five, 9-credit integrated modules. These are the titles of the modules:

  • Creating Socially Responsible Businesses in the Digital Age
  • Data-Driven Decision Making
  • Leading with Integrity
  • Leveraging Global Business Opportunities
  • Developing the Innovative Mindset

According to the school, each module will require approximately 9 to 16 hours of work per week.

The program length will be flexible, and students will be able to complete the new program in as few as two years. At launch, the tuition for BU's Online MBA will be $24,000.

The new Online MBA will launch in the fall of 2020 and will begin accepting applications in August. Few other additional details—such as application requirements—have been announced.

In my personal opinion, full time MBA is more valuable than online for various reason such as classroom session. Being in class is really a unique experience, however with evolution of latest technologies, it’s possible to experience quality education online. Still, nothing beats classroom education!
