Sacred Heart University Launches Blended MBA

Program to mix online learning with Saturday classes, will take two years to complete

The Jack Welch College of Business at Connecticut's Sacred Heart University has announced that it will launch a blended MBA program.

The "Welch Hybrid MBA" program will combine online learning with 15 Saturday classroom sessions over a two-year period. During the first year of the program, students will focus on core curriculum in finance, accounting, and management, primarily online but with three on-campus sessions. During the second half of the program, participants will carry out a capstone project, which involves business plan development and action learning projects. Twelve Saturday sessions are included in the second year.

The Saturday sessions will be delivered on campuses in Fairfield and Stamford, Connecticut.

The Jack Welch College of Business is accredited by AACSB International.

Other Connecticut-based, AACSB-accredited business schools offering online or hybrid MBA programs include Quinnipiac University and the University of Hartford's Barney School of Business.

The Welch Hybrid MBA program is set to launch in January 2016. Applications for the program will open on July 1; applicants with strong work experience can request a GMAT waiver.
