Hello!
I have seen that Msc are discussed here so I would appreciate if somebody could help me. I have a Bachelor in Business Management and 2 years of experience in Treasurary and Accountancy in Spain. I am aplying to the following universities but I would like to know which is better in order to find a job in management accounting in Uk or Ireland after finishing the Master:
UCD - Msc Strategic Management Accounting
Strathclyde - Msc International Accounting & Finance
Durham - Msc Finance (Accounting & Finance)
I have seen in FT ranking of Msc in Finance that UCD has a lower career status in comparison with the others, but the good thing about its programme is that offers successful graduates full exemption from all CIMA exams, except the institute?s final test of professional competence. On the other hand, may be it will be easier for me to find a good placement while I am studying in Glasgow or Durham rather than Dublin.
I appreciate any info. Thanks!

The CIMA masters gateway is open to most students with masters degrees in accounting. Are you sure that the others are not also eligible? Check with them, or CIMA.

Thank you for your reply Duncan.
I am asking to CIMA, but using the exemption search, I have found that in the Msc in Accounting & Finance of Durham and Strathclyde you only have a few exemptions while with the UCD programme you can get 11 exemptions:
http://www.cimaglobal.com/Study-with-us/Exemptions/Exemption-search/University-College-Dublin-UCD/?qualification=1-CV6STZ
http://www.cimaglobal.com/Study-with-us/Exemptions/Exemption-search/University-of-Strathclyde/?qualification=1-9JC6W3
http://www.cimaglobal.com/Study-with-us/Exemptions/Exemption-search/University-of-Durham/?qualification=1-792MGW
If that's true, which programme would you advise me to choose? All of them seem to be good Programmes taking into account the FT Ranking in Finance and the Eduniversal Ranking in Accounting & Auditing but I would like to know if they can give good job opportunities after the graduation. Thanks!

The UCD program looks great. Ask them about placement, but I would imagine there are always roles for part-qualified CIMAs in Dublin.

So I think that UCD will be my first option and Strathclyde the second one.
Thank you very much for your help Duncan!

Hey Sanri,
This is Craig from India. Even I applied for the MSc SMA program at UCD. How long do they take to make a decision? I applied on the 28th of Jan.
Thanks!

I'm just about to submit my application for UCD's MSc in Strategic Management Accounting program, has anybody heard back yet? I wonder how long it takes to get a response.
