Hi everyone,
I decided my first post was long overdue!
I've been seriously considering doing an MBA at UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.
I've spoken to a few people and they've all said it's a good programme.
All three told me about this new careers manager there, Brian Marrinan, who has been revolutionary and they have gotten some great results in the jobs market this year.
I'm seriously considering Ireland because it's booming in terms of the digital media industry with the European head offices of Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, eBay and PayPal. Twitter just announced that they're opening up there as well. These are really attractive companies to me.
With such a strong concentration on careers and really attractive industries it seems to make sense to me.
Does anyone else have any thoughts on Smurfit?
Thanks!

Nope, it's not an add, I'm genuinely looking for people with any kind of experience of the place.
Most of my friends seem to want to go to the UK, but I'm not so sure.
I guess I'm just looking for peoples opinions and experience. Sorry if it came across like an ad.

Athlete,
I'm currently on the Smurfit Business School full-time MBA programme. Let me know where you're from and I'll try to get one of my fellow students of the same nationality to provide you with information that will be relevant for you.
In my class there are students from USA, Canada, Russia, India, China, UK, Germany, Vietnam and Ireland.
Paul.

Thank you Paul.
I am from Northern India. My background is 5 years in technology.
I am wondering what previous Indian MBA's have done after the Smurfit MBA. Do you know that?

Hi Athlete,
I'm currently pursuing my MBA @ Smurfit and I'm from India.
It is true that Ireland is really opening up big time for technology players. I would suggest Smurfit if you are looking for a career in this industry.
Talking about the MBA, I'm satisfied with its quality and the peer group.
If you need any information on specific areas, do post it here.
Cheers!
