What about the quality of education and placement opportunities in masters of international business in curtin university singapore?
Posted Oct 01, 2013 20:29
Dear Duncan Sir what is your opinion about Singapore management university master in management as the fees is S$35500,Is it a good option?
As i was also interested for applying in MDIS singapore for the grenoble MIB as the fees is almost same.
What is your choice between both of them?
You should ask the universities directly about placement information. There are only a few Singaporean universities, so it's not so hard. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_universities_and_colleges_in_Singapore
Take a look at
http://mim.nus.edu/
http://business.smu.edu.sg/master-management
http://www.sutd.edu.sg/mit_sutd_masters.aspx
http://www.nbs.ntu.edu.sg/Graduate/MSc_Financial_Engineering/Pages/MSc_Financial_Engineering.aspx
Of course there is a big difference between GGSB in Grenoble and in Singapore. GGSB is the oldest and most respects business school in that region of France. It has a strong careers team in France and a lot of alumni in France. It also attracts high quality students there because it's one of the top 6 or 7 schools in a huge country. None of those things is true of the GGSB franchise holder in Singapore.

I think SMU is great value. I don't see why anyone would chose MDIS over SMU, since SMU is a really well rooted university, and Grenoble is an unknown brand in Asia.

MIB is a a degree for International Business where in one would learn about international environment & business Ethics and different trade laws done on an International Level ,Thus Apart if you can also do your MBA as it it been consider a core management degree that open doors for different careers,Also if the college is offering a Specialization In IB that would also work instead of going to MIB.

In this it has been given only 44% of students have been placed? Whether the salary given is maximum salary or average salary? Whether they are providing placement assistance?
Posted Nov 05, 2013 16:22
The criteria are defined at http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/masters-in-management-2013 Just hover over the column headings.
Of course all these ranked schools will have careers services.

Which is better? MBA in Hult business school or Msc in Management in University of Manchester?
Posted Nov 06, 2013 09:54
Your profile fits an MBA. But Hult cannot be your only choice? Why not look for a more respected school, perhaps with double or triple accreditation.

Guys, be very careful with Hult! Slick marketing and sweet-talking recruiters does not constitute a quality b-school. I could go on for days, but these are the key things you should know:
- figures for Hult are massively massaged to their benefit and to achieve the rankings on FT and Economist. In fact, I would only use QS as a source.
- selection criteria are none existent. Cases of sub-400 gnats gaining admissions!!
- accreditations are questionable. Who the hell are BAC and NEASC!!
- Hult has zero cred in the US and UK. Prob most well known in India, where most of their students are from.
Feel free to contact me regarding any questions.

P.s adhinesh, just from your questions on this forum I can tell that no major corporation is likely to take you on in a managerial role. Why don't you just work hard in your current job and stop letting companies like Hult sell you a dream that you will be earning USD80k per annum living the high life in sunny Sanfran.

Sir,
I'm considering three options
1. sp jain global tricity course (mgb)
2. ggsb (MIB) MDIS, singapore
3. ggsb (MBA) MDIS, singapore
which option do you think will be the best decision?

What are your goals?
Posted Feb 25, 2014 20:17
My goal is to do a job in singapore or anywhere else.
My question was basically to know which one of the three will be worth the money and will have more value in the future?

If you want to work in Singapore, then attend a Singaporean university. If that's not an option, then ask these schools for their placement records in Singapore. Obviously Grenoble doesn't have staff or career support in Singapore, so SP Jain may be the better option. However, the better options will be NUS, NTU and SMU.
If you don't want to work in Singapore, then SP Jain will be more portable than the Grenoble degree if you want to work in Asia or Australia.

I want to study in a good university of Singapore but they need work ex. I'm a fresher with no work experience. Which Singaporean university will be the best for me?
Posted Feb 26, 2014 10:07
No, I think they all have MSc options for students without work experience:

So if I have an option between Nus (msc in management) and Grenoble Singapore (mib), which one should I opt for?
