MIB at Hult International Business School

fre3ze

Is there any one out here whose doing/done the Masters in International Business (MIB) program at Hult ? As far as my knowledge goes the program commenced this year for the very first time so i think the September 2009 batch was the first one.

The course modules for the program look pretty impressive and another thing that caught my attention was their Global Rotation Program where you can choose to study at any one of their campuses located in Boston, San Francisco, London, Dubai and Shanghai during the term of course.

So can anyone tell me something more about this program and the University in general ?

You are right the program only started this year. The MIB curriculum looks like it is roughly 2/3rd of the MBA program which I took with Hult in Boston. This should mean the workload is much more managable (the MBA was insane). The faculty are the same - so the education quality should be first class. Friends of mine have been on the Shanghai rotation and said it was very cool. As far as i can see the key differentiator of Hult is now this campus rotation program.

But to be honest, everything at Hult is so new because it is growing so rapidly. When i was there they just had the Boston campus. Five years later they are all over the world. The change is so much it is difficult for any alumni to comment with relevant insights. If i were you i would try to reach out to current London students through Facebook or Linkedin. I am sure they can give you the complete picture.

Did you have any luck?

I sent out messages to around 6 people and only 1 has replied so far and everything was positive from his side. I even sent an email to one of the admission officers at HULT with a few questions i wanted to clear out before applying, but its been almost a week now and i haven't received a reply from them.

But anyways I'm gonna shoot off a few more messages today and hopefully some of them should reply.

I guess the current students are busy. It is exam time at this time of year.

Surprising the admission guys didnt get back to you. They were really, really responsive during my application. Perhaps your email got put in spam mail or something (?) pretty common if you are using hotmail or gmail.

Hi fre3ze!!
I too, got to know about this program recently and am interested. Have u had any luck trying to get any replies from the current students? If so, please post your replies. I would be interested in pursuing the course in the London campus.

The MIB is a unique hybrid of a business degree and an international affairs degree. Tufts University is also very famous for its MIB programme.

If you are considering the MIB, then you must definitely apply for Tufts University, The Fletcher School. It is the number 1 program in this field.

Fletcher holds a special place among schools of international affairs. Diplomats from across the world and international policymakers have been filling its classrooms for decades before beginning their professional lives.

Fletcher's Master of International Business builds on 30 years of experience of teaching business, or "commerce" as it was known back in the day.

What's more, Tufts University doesn't have a business school so students aren't shunted off to another building for classes. The curriculum is joined up and intense. If you see yourself managing political risk for BP or setting loan terms for World Bank projects, the MIB is for you.

Good luck to you

Tufts' is a two-year program, though. Hult is a one-year program. That's a key factor for most prospective students, however good the Tufts program might be.
