WHU or ESMT for an MBA?

Ahmad999

Greetings everyone,

I have 9 years of experience in marketing and business development, specifically in the F&B, QSR & Fashion industries with different international brands but due to personal reasons i will be moving to Germany soon.

which school has better reputation and strong alumni network? WHU or ESMT?

PS: I will be studying the language in parallel with the program.

WHU is a much older and better known school. Importantly, it's also in the West. Berlin still has roughly half the average GDP of the big Western cities, and both higher unemployment and more foreign talent unable to work in German.

See the post linked on my profile page about learning the language. You will not learn German to a work standard during an intensive MBA taught in English. This could be barely feasible if you came to a German speaking region now and took an intensive course,  and had a German partner. WHU is the better option for someone who cannot work in German but wants to work in Germany.

Very much agreed, as a foreigner who's been living in Germany for almost 7 years. The language is a big barrier that takes a long time to surmount. Bit it's not impossible, of course :).
