Dear Duncan

First of all I would like to thank you for your valuable insight on various MBA related question. Most of my doubt were cleared by going thorough your previous answers.

Coming back to the point I need to finalize my business school list to give to my mentor for recommendation . I would be very thankful to you if you could review by Business school list with my career goal and provide any suggestion. Thanks for your time and valuable guidance .

I am from India working in Oil & Gas Consulting government organisation for last 7 years.
I am mostly involved as team member/ team lead responsible for project execution and supervision of mostly billion $ projects . My career goal is to move to executive position and lead a mega project or directly enter in energy consulting .

I have done my undergrad from top 10 engineering institute in India and Work integrated MBA from BITS Pilani

For me important criteria for B school selection is 12-15 month course , International mobility ,
Tution fees , ranking , focus on leadership /energy, Diversity in class

Profile pro + DAAD wise scholar , Germany , Company award for best professional
-ive - zero international experience , no social community experience , not much extra curricular due to remote location , No foreign language ,GMAT in april

My prelim B school list:

1)ESMT
2)EDHEC
3)Copenhagen
4)HEC Paris
5)Mannheim
6)WHU
7)SDA Bocconi
8)Smurfit
9)Vlerick

What are your goals?

And what languages do you speak? If you intend on working in the country you're studying in, you probably want to speak the language. If you don't speak German, French, Danish, etc., already, Smurfit would probably be the best option. If you speak German and want to work in Germany, perhaps a German-language MBA or other business master's would be a better option.

First of all use following links from Duncan
How to use LinkedIn to find the best school www.find-mba.com/board/33571
Do you need to speak the local language? www.find-mba.com/board/34713

HEC Paris is a great option for you. It is highly ranked with great international mobility and a diverse class.
1. The program is 16 months with a mandatory language requirement
http://www.mba.hec.edu/Learning-Experience/16-month-Curriculum#languages
2. The program has the option to earn a free certificate in Energy & Finance
http://www.hec.edu/Masters-programs/Non-degree-programs/Certificates-available-to-current-HEC-students-only/Energy-Finance/Why-this-certificate

ESMT has decent placement in energy sector but not knowing German will make things difficult. Language will also be an issue with Mannhiem, WHU and EDHEC.
Smurfit has scholarship opportunities and may be good if you don't speak local language.
SDA is a great school ranking wise however, I don't know how it does in Energy sector placements.
