MBA: HEC Paris vs. RSM?

omar27

Hi, I want your advice in choosing between HEC Paris and RSM MBA programs, I've already been admitted to both programs.

I'm a peruvian industrial engineer, worked as a manager in trade marketing and sales in the FMCG industry, and my plan is to come back to my country after finishing the MBA. Both programs offer a marketing concentration which is what most called my attention to apply to them. I don't speak french but the HEC program offers french classes in the curriculum.

I know that HEC always gets better rankings that RSM, but it is also more expensive in tuition and in living expenses... i don't know which one offers more scholarships to their students, but i think that i could get some help from both of them...

Thank you very much for your help.

Other things being equal, HEC is much better because of the long format and the campus location: Tighter networks, living on campus, internships, projects, international exchange, better students and faculty, a more humane pace of work, more learning, better language support, an easier language to learn, a bigger and more useful alumni network, exchange students from amazing schools, the MBA Tournament, Paris, a major international airport, a bigger school.

As someone who was admitted to RSM and speaks Dutch, even I would pick HEC.

Just curious - why are you looking at European MBA programs when you're planning on returning to Peru after you graduate? Wouldn't it be better to do an MBA in your region, or, do one from a school that has stronger ties with the Americas (IE comes to mind for instance.)
