EMBA Options in Europe for Tech Leaders

Hello Experts,
My name is Avinash and I have a bachelor's degree in IT from India and almost 12 years of experience in Information Technology, specialised in Data, managing Business Intelligence systems and Data Analytics departments. I am currently Head of BI & Analytics for a large fashion e-commerce company based in Berlin, Germany.

I am planning to apply for EMBA this year Sept intake. The goal is to progress in my career to try for a senior leadership role within the company or in a global Information Technology company (Product / Services) in Europe.

I want to go in a school which has global recognition as I plan to move back to India in the next 5 years, so targeting to complete emba, attempting a senior role here in a global tech organisation, get experience and move back to India, ideally in the same org.

The best option for me is ESMT Berlin, it's local, but my research suggests it won't help to achieve my goals. Not many alumni in India or at Global tech firms on senior roles.

The other options are WHU / Manheim in Germany. If I push myself, then can try for LBS / HEC / Insead. These are expensive and would need a lot of travel.

Ofcourse an assumption here is that I will be offered a position on making an application. If I get a call, what should be my preference list?

Which other school might be a better choice?

Which of these schools has the best alumni network in India?

Looking at LinkedIn, few schools were just listed out as they had very limited alumni in India. the following is the list in most to least order -
LBS
Insead
ESCP / Warwick Business School
HEC.

I also saw that LBS has big alumni in banking in London too, which also has a big IT Operations, so that might also help.

In terms of people in IT / Tech -
Insead/HEC
LBS/ESCP
WBS

Ofcourse, we need to consider the ratio as some schools like WBS has very few overall Alumins and Insead has a lot. Also what is not sure what role/position the alumni are placed from different schools in the Tech Industry.

Considering the third factor of cost -
Insead
LBS
HEC Paris
WBS

Also, the question of career progression in Tech, which of the school courses are aligned to executive leadership.

Insead will be the best option to stay with your current firm, and LBS is evidently the best school for connections in India.

I don't see the wisdom in considering the ratio: the power of the network is driven by scale and density. The better schools have both the biggest networks but also the ost active and powerful.

Thanks for the reply Stuart.
one thing which I probably did not made clear was that my current organisation is European, so no operations outside Europe. I would need to make a move at some point anyway to move back to India. So idea is to make that move with the MBA. Post which join an organisation in EU, which is global and have a presence in India for ease of moving back down the line.

You are looking for a school with a strong alumni network in the EU and in the India? The best choices are LBS or Insead, with networks that are almost exactly the same size in India but [in terms of banking and IT, the industries you mention) LBS has more alumni in India. In terms of Europe, the fact that London has been outside the EU for 34 days doesn't make any difference. It still has one of the biggest alukni networks in mainland Europe. If you wanted to stay in Berlin, Insead is certainly a stronger school than LBS there because of the group of Insead alumni at Delivery Hero and Zalando .
