Which MBA ?

Hello guys

I’m planning to study my distance learning MBA ,I raised applications for many schools and I’m feeling so confused to select the right one for me ..
Warwick business school or Open University or Boston University via edex
I studied with the OU the professional certificate in management and the material was excellent but their delivery system depends mainly on reading and there is no live lectures or something make the program easy!
Also I’m wondering why OU is not listed with the FT ranking as I knew it was triple crow MBA ?

Many thanks
Omar

What are your goals?

If you have the OU certificate, you are one-third of the way to their MBA already. Other than the Harvard ALM, I don't think there are many online courses with live lectures.

I imagine that the OU MBA does not meet the FT's criterion requiring a selection process. See the section on methodology at https://www.ft.com/content/413adc26-f4fe-11e6-95ee-f14e55513608

Mooc based courses like Boston edX or illinois probably don't have live lectures. (but contact them to be sure if you are interested in them)

I did some online courses in the swedish system with stokholm university and lulea institute of technology and the courses were truly live. Not only live but they were done at the same time as the on-campus courses. All the students on-campus and online had to use the microphone to communicate, the questions and answers where heard by everyone, giving a "same room" feeling. The interface had buttons to raise your hand, or even to applaud! Many on-campus students were switching between online or attendance. You could do group homework with online or campus students. It was truly the same experience, the same cohort I would say.
It would be great if you can find something like this!

A MOOC by definition is a different experience. The M stands for Massive, and they are usually asynchronous where everyone does things on his own time and pace

Thanks for your replies.

Dr Duncan, I have 2 main goals one for short term is to get career progression within 3 years and long term which is to start my own business.

In my country there is limited ppl who got their MBA , and the certification will open many opportunities for me for private market to start my business because there is very limited centers working on business consultation and trainings and huge market need.

So what do you think? Where should i go ?

The Illinois iMBA is much better value than the Boston programme. If you didn't like the OU approach, I know my friend on the Illinois degree is very content with it.
