Warwick vs. GUST

Alisa

Hi, I m looking for the valuable MBA program for the career boost/change.
I am currently staying as an expat in Kuwait. Due to Kuwait doesn't have many options for reliable MBA I am considering distance learning as well. My main options are full-time MBA program from GUST or distance learning from Warwick.
I understand that full-time is better then distance learning, but Warwick is well-known name, well ranked, proven quality, triple accreditation, etc., while GUST doesn't have that strong name outside of Middle East, not ranked, AACSB accreditation only, I am not sure about the quality of MBA.. BUT it is full-time.
Can anyone advice what would be a better choice in this case?

If you want the rest of your career in a Kuwaiti Islamic cultural setting, then GUST could make sense. It's not a full-time programme really: the classes are taught from 5pm to 8pm to allow part-time students to attend, so the full-time option is simply studying with the part-time courses.

Why not take a course in Dubai?

Duncan, saying full-time I meant studying on-campus, sorry for confusing. Since I've been working 5-days per week I have no opportunity to study on-campus in Dubai, maximum what I can do is to join the on-campus sessions 2-3 times per year for 1-2 weeks. So, even in Dubai I can consider only distance learning.

Are there no executive programmes in Dubai like that? The Manchester part-time MBA sounds like that, and there are many programmes with longer, but fewer blocks: the LBS EMBA in Dubai, the Manchester GEMBA, and so on.

Either way, I think a programme in Dubai or by distance learning makes sense if your career might ever lead outside Kuwait.
