Hi!

I have been offered a place on the Strathclyde Business School Flexible Learning Programme as well as Oxford Brookes Global MBA. After originally considering an online MBA, I have decided to apply for blended MBA programme. I am now considering applying for University of Edinburgh MBA Programme but not sure if I have to take the GMAT in order to apply. I have owned and operated three businesses of my own, a managerial experience of over 15 years in the UK and abroad. But, although I have attended university, I did not finish my degree due to a job opportunity that I couldn't turn down. My goal for taking an MBA is for personal development as well as a possible career change (to be able to apply to executive positions in the retail, catering and/ or hospitality industry) and possibly to open myself to opportunities to take on a bigger business project either on my own or in collaboration with someone. Budget is also a consideration, possibly up to £20K.

I am hoping someone from this forum can advice. Thank you.

Can you not stretch to Durham or Warwick? Both seem to have much better outcomes if you can stretch your budget a little?

Thank you for your reply AJJ_99. I have looked at the requirements and unfortunately, Durham requires a university degree and so does Warwick. I would very much like to apply to these schools which have very good rankings and reputation but I am limited by the entry and application requirements.

My advice is wait for them to tell you no, if you have good experience it might outweigh that for them. Don't rule yourself out of any of the universities you are targeting, you might find they are willing to accept some less conventional candidates.

I'm not saying they will definitely accept you but if they are the ones you really want, then apply and see how you get on, nothing to lose.

Thank you for the advice AJJ. I have sent my CV to Warwick who have encouraged me to apply after evaluation of my CV. I have submitted my application and I am now just waiting to hear from them. Fingers crossed.
